This is the best time of year to fly in Florida. Over the weekend, I flew a couple in our Cirrus SR22 to Key West. The flight took us over the Everglades, Florida Bay, and lower keys. The air was clear and smooth with just enough scattered clouds to add contrast to the blue water. The arrival into Key West, from the south, was exceptional and the passengers enjoyed the view. Although the weak economy has lessened the numbers of tourists to Key West, there's still a steady flow of them from what I saw at the Island City terminal. I encourage those of you who live nearby or can get on a plane, to get out there and visit the Florida Keys soon. The combination of great weather, small crowds, and eager merchants offers you the best opportunity to enjoy a nice getaway.
